About Garumedang Tektites Geosite

Garumedang Tektites Geosite is a private geopark developed by Veri through PT. Gravica. The park was born from a lifelong fascination with the unique tektite stones found in the Garumedang area, known globally as Billitonite and locally as Satam.

Over the years, what began as a personal collection of these natural glass formations has grown into a dedicated effort to preserve and showcase the region's significant geological heritage. Tektites, formed from the intense heat and pressure of meteorite impacts, are among the most intriguing natural materials found in Indonesia, and Garumedang is one of their key locations.

Through this geopark, visitors can explore the complete story of tektites—from their violent cosmic origins to their cultural significance. The site features various specimens discovered in the surrounding areas and provides valuable educational opportunities for students, researchers, and anyone with a passion for geology and natural history.

Beyond preserving these geological findings, the geopark is designed as a space where visitors can immerse themselves in the natural landscape of Garumedang while learning about the scientific and cultural importance of tektites.
